How Much Does It Cost to Charter a Yacht?

Charter prices look simple until the extras appear. Here's the honest, all-in picture so you can budget properly for a week afloat.

The base price

This is what you pay to rent the boat for the week, and it swings hugely with boat type and season. As a rough Mediterranean guide for a 45–47ft boat:

• Sailing monohull: ~€2,500–€3,500 in shoulder season, €4,000–€6,000 in peak August.
• Catamaran (same length): usually 60–90% more — see catamaran vs monohull.
• Smaller boats (35–40ft): from around €1,200–€2,500.

The extras that always apply

• Security deposit: refundable, typically €1,500–€3,000; you can usually buy a damage waiver to reduce or remove it.
• End cleaning & tourist tax: usually €150–€300 combined.
• Fuel: you return the tank full; a sailing week rarely tops €150, a motorboat far more.
• Transit log / final services: sometimes billed separately — check what the base price includes.

The optional extras

A realistic week

For a couple or family on a 45ft monohull in June, anchoring most nights: budget roughly €3,500–€4,500 all-in for the boat, plus food and mooring nights. Add a skipper and it's ~€1,200–€1,500 more for the week. Peak August and a catamaran push it well higher.
